Takeaway: While not everyone is called to the office of deacon, every Christian is called to diaconal ministry. In Galatians, Paul defines life in the Holy Spirit as a life of service to one another; the definition of diaconal ministry. Ironically, it is by making obligations to love others in the church that a Christian finds true freedom. How is Paul’s understanding of “being spiritual” differ from the common understanding?
