Takeaway: From Creation onward, we can see that God cares about order and justice. Since the Fall, God created the institution of the State to preserve and uphold what is good. The State is distinct from the Church; the best interests of both suffer when this distinction is blurred. How does understanding God’s purpose for the State help the Church fulfill its calling? In what ways are you tempted to want the Church to have the State’s role or the State to have the Church’s role?
