Takeaway: Why does it seem like all of my effort never seems to produce lasting gain? Ecclesiastes acknowledges that my toil will not generate a profit. The point, though, is not that life is meaningless. The problem is not with life; it is with how we are using our life. Perhaps there is more to live for than merely what is offered “under the sun.” What are things you are trying to “gain” out of life? How do your fears and anxieties reveal them?
