Eating His Flesh and Drinking His Blood

January 16, 2022 Speaker: Kevin Nelson Series: The Gospel of John

Passage: John 6:47-65

Takeaway: Jesus is not content to simply be followed; he calls us to “eat his flesh and drink his blood.” He is offering himself and his work on the cross to us, and we must receive it and make it ours. This concept has its full expression in the Lord’s Supper. The sacrament is no substitute for the word of God, but when joined with the word, it strengthens our faith and confirms our salvation. What is the danger of separating the Lord’s Supper and our faith in Christ? What changes about your faith when you trust that Christ is present when we worship?
