Takeaway: Christmastime often involves hosting and attending parties, but often this hospitality undermines the gospel by treating it as entertainment. We perform to impress. At Jesus’ birth, we witness a hospitality that builds deep bonds. Mary and Joseph don’t allow their shameful circumstances to stop them from welcoming the Son of God. Jesus, in turn, allows himself to be vulnerable and cared for. What prevents you from this kind of hospitality?
