Sin constantly persuades us to make our life about us. Even our Christianity is centered on ourselves and our ability to live it out. The end result is not self-fulfillment, but anxiety, defensiveness, and misery. John the Baptist shows us a better way. He points away from himself and to a life dependent on Christ. Do you believe that hope is found by thinking less of yourself? Why do you feel the need to justify yourself before others?
