From Fear to Faith

October 18, 2020 Speaker: Kevin Nelson Series: Genesis

Passage: Genesis 3:7-24

Our sin has broken our relationship with God and has chosen independence. But, instead of finding freedom, our independence has produced fear and shame. The experience of shame makes us feel like an orphan. We are left on our own to establish and defend our vulnerable identity. Adam and Eve immediately experience this effect of sin. Astonishingly, God did not leave them as orphans. Even at the moment of judgment, God offers real hope. This hope, though, does not come from our own strength; it must be received, not earned. Do you see the characteristics of a spiritual orphan in your heart? What is your greatest struggle in receiving grace?
